I am a man who is in love with God, my family, and others. I truly desire to “Love God, Love People”.
I grew up in a pastor’s home just outside of Houston, TX. Although I learned to play the part real well there was no true relationship when it came to Jesus. It was at the age of 12 while at a youth rally that I let my guard down and God was able to show me my need for a savior. I knew all of the stories and all about Christ but that day I made it a reality in my life.
Things were great until I reached high school and the desire to be accepted began to lead to wrong decisions. While still playing “church” on Sundays I began to turn my heart from God and follow after the empty promises of this world. It wasn’t until my senior year that things would be any different.
Through the help of a girl who would not give me the time of day until I was willing to change my ways, I began to soften my heart to God once again.
After graduating from high school I eventually married that girl and we now have two beautiful children.
We became actively involved in our local church and in 1998 surrendered our lives to ministry. I earned a BS degree in Bible and Missions and have served in full-time student ministry for over 7 years. God has since called us to extend our ministry beyond that of the local church. He fused our passions for students, missions, and helping others together and led to work in the area of student missions. We also travel and speak when given the opportunity.

Comment by Kelly January 18, 2010 @ 1:45 amI have been following your family for several days now since I learned about you from the Livesay blog. Praying, writing letters, educating myself, praying more, posting your story on my facebook to get others to write letters, praying some more. I’ve interrupted meals and even work meetings to announce an update on your progress homeward. Today—I can’t stop smiling. We are joining you late in the game–I know, but wanted you to know that strangers (my posse-your posse—HIS posse, really) in Northern Indiana, Southern Mississippi, Detroit and the DR have been praying and pulling and finally celebrating with your family! Will continue to follow your tweets and pray for rest, peace, healing and normalcy (what ever that is). If I don’t “see” y’all this side of glory–I will look forward to the celebration beyond when the tears are finally and lovingly wiped away. Con mi corazone, entiro, lk
